A group of international scientists believe that the virus that led to the COVID-19 pandemic evolved in nature, saying suggestions of a laboratory-leak source "remain without scientifically validated evidence." In a letter published in The Lancet medical journal, 24 scientists, including physicians, epidemiologists, and public health experts from around the world, dismissed the lab-leak theory.
