Southwestern and eastern China and other parts of the country are bracing for the impact of extreme weather. The provinces of Sichuan, Zhejiang and Shandong have raised rainfall warning to level three in a four-tier system, saying downpours, strong wind and hail are expected in coming days. Many reservoirs are opening their gates to release water for flood control.
