The coming Tokyo Olympics will proceed without spectators, overseas or domestic, for events taking place in Tokyo Metropolis due to a fourth state of emergency imposed in that area. It will make Tokyo 2020 the first Olympic Games ever held largely behind closed doors. The decision was announced on Thursday, just two weeks before the Games' opening ceremony.
