The Chinese mainland recorded 26 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, seven cases of local transmission of the virus in southwest China's Yunnan Province and 19 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Saturday.

In addition, 16 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 480 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,015, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,949 (11,648 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 55 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,185 (11,536 recoveries, 730 deaths)
