Cuba on Friday approved its home-grown Abdala vaccine for emergency use, the first Latin American coronavirus jab to reach this stage.
The country's health regulator CECMED authorized the emergency use of the vaccine as it has shown the efficacy of 92.28% in the prevention of symptomatic forms of the disease after three doses, according to a statement.
