Chinese mainland reports 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 24 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, among which 12 are local transmissions in southwest China's Yunnan Province and the other 12 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Sunday.

In addition, 17 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 475 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,039, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,950 (11,652 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 55 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,218 (11,698 recoveries, 736 deaths)
