2021 World Rowing Championships canceled due to COVID-19

The 2021 World Rowing Championships have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the World Rowing's executive committee on Sunday.

Originally scheduled to be held from October 17 and 24 in Dianshan Lake located in east China's Shanghai, the tournament is now canceled due to the pandemic and mitigation measures, explained the Shanghai organizing committee.

World Rowing expressing gratitude to the contribution from the Chinese Rowing Association, Shanghai Municipality, and the organizing committee in Shanghai, expressed its willingness to organize the competition in the future.
