The UEFA European Championship ended at Wembley Stadium on Sunday as Italy defeated England to win the title again after 53 years. The event, which was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic featured some truly unforgettable moments.

Leonardo Bonucci became the oldest player to score in a European Championship final, aged 34 years and 71 days, after tying it 1-1 for Italy.

Before Bonucci's goal, Luke Shaw scored at 1:57 in the first half, the fastest goal in any final of the Euros.

In the group game between Ukraine and North Macedonia in Group C, for the first time in history, both sides had one player – Ezgjan Alioski of North Macedonia and Ruslan Malinovskyi of Ukraine – fail to score a penalty.

Those were not the only embarrassing moments. In Portugal's 4-2 loss to Germany, Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro of Portugal both scored own goals, which had never happened before in Euros history.

Euro 2020 featured more own goals (11) than all of the previous editions combined (nine).

Moreover, Euro 2020 also had the most extra-time games – eight.

But not every record at this year's European Championship has been negative. For example, Patrik Schick of the Czech Republic scored a goal in the Group D game against Scotland from 49.7 meters, the longest in tournament history.

Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 36, is now the record holder for goals scored at the Euros (14), scoring the most goals in the Euros and the World Cup combined (21), playing in the most editions of the Euros (five) and appearing in the most European Championship games (25).
