Eight people were killed and nine remained unaccounted for after a hotel building collapsed in east China's Jiangsu Province on Monday, local authorities said.
The incident happened at 3:33 p.m. in Wujiang District in the city of Suzhou, the district government said.
The Ministry of Emergency Management dispatched a work group to the city.
The cause of the collapse is being investigated.
