MOFA: Human rights not to be defined only by Western ideologies and values

On the sidelines of the 47th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, China, Belarus, Russia and Venezuela co-hosted a video meeting on how human rights in Western countries lack international supervision and response. The meeting exposed serious human rights problems in some Western countries including the United States and the hypocritical nature of their human rights policies. On July 12, Zhao Lijian, spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, said human rights are neither the patent of some individual countries nor can they be defined only by Western ideologies and values.
