China will send 10 athletes to the Tokyo Olympics for diving competitions and the list is as follows:
Men: Xie Siyi, Wang Zongyuan, Yang Jian, Cao Yuan and Chen Aisen
Women: Shi Tingmao, Wang Han, Chen Yuxi, Quan Hongchan and Zhang Jiaqi
The Chinese diving team has won a total 40 gold medals since 1984. Last time in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, Chinese athletes won eight diving golds and at least one medal in each of the eight events.
Cao Yuan, Chen Aisen and Shi Tingmao attended the last Olympic Games in Rio and the team is counting on them to lead the young bloods like Chen Yuxi, Wang Zongyuan and Quan Hongchan.

Shi Tingmao won women's 3-meter springboard gold and 3-meter synchro (pairing with Wu Minxia) gold in Rio. She paired with Wang Han to rule almost all world titles of 3-meter events for the past five years. The two will try to continue their dominance in this area in Tokyo.
Cao Yuan claimed men's 3-meter springboard gold and 3-meter synchro bronze in 2016. This time he will challenge himself in men's 10-meter platform with Yang Jian and join hands with Chen Aisen in men's 10-meter synchro event. Chen Aisen pocketed both golds of men's 10-meter platform and 10-meter synchro (pairing with Lin Yue) in Rio.

Xie Siyi is another diving ace for China in men's 3-meter competitions. Having missed the 2016 Olympics due to injury, he is targeting first Olympic title in Tokyo. His partner for men's 3-meter synchro event is Wang Zongyuan, who won men's 1-meter springboard gold in the World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea

Back in 2019, 13-year-old Chen Yuxi claimed women's 10-meter platform title in Gwangju. She and 14-year-old Quan Hongchan, who beat Chen Yuxi several times in recent competitions, are China's hopes for women's 10-meter platform.
The 17-year-old Zhang Jiaqi will pair with Chen Yuxi to compete for women's 10-meter title.
Diving events of the Tokyo Olympics will happen between July 25 and August 7.
