Afghan government says its forces killed 267 Taliban fighters
03:44

Heavy fighting continues in Afghanistan as the Taliban fast sweeps across the country, following military withdrawals by the U.S. and NATO. The Afghan government claims it's killed more than 260 Taliban fighters in recent battles in efforts to retake lost ground, while the Taliban say they control over 85 percent of the country's territory. The police blame the militants for an afternoon bomb explosion in Kabul on July 13 that left at least four dead. Peace talks have made little progress so far.
