Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting via video link in Beijing on Friday at the invitation of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, announced the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday. 

Ardern will chair the informal meeting of leaders of the APEC members to focus on the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic effects.
