The Chinese mainland recorded 36 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, all from overseas, the data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

In addition, 23 new asymptomatic cases, all from overseas, were recorded on Thursday, while 451 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,183, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,955 (11,675 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 55 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,346 (12,083 recoveries, 759 deaths)
