Rescuers were searching for five people trapped underground after a coal mine accident in Yulin City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
A coal mine in the city's Yuyang district was flooded with water and sand at around 15:25 local time on Thursday.
As search operation continues for the missing miners, an investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.
