Rivers in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg burst their banks after days of intense rainfall, killing more than 120 people and causing severe damage in the entire neighborhoods. As of Friday afternoon local time, the death toll climbed to 103 in Germany and more fatalities are feared while at least 21 lives have been lost in Belgium. Other countries including the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland are also affected with hundreds of thousands of people being evacuated. Rescue operations are underway.
