Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Sunday. They discussed relations between China and Arab states as well as regional and international issues. Zhang Yongpeng, senior research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Institute of West-Asian and African Studies, said mutual respect from historical and strategic perspectives is conducive to resolving differences, and that Belt and Road cooperation and regional stability should be promoted simultaneously.
