A new batch of vaccines from the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac arrived on Sunday in Ecuador to help advance the country's national COVID-19 vaccination plan.

The South American nation registered 850 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bring the total number of infections to 476,065, said the country's health ministry on Sunday.
