Paulownia trees in Lankao County, central China's Henan Province, planted to improve the environment and ecology in the 1960s, are now becoming a source of wealth for local people. As the paulownia wood is an ideal material for the soundboards of such traditional Chinese musical instruments as the guqin and guzheng, locals make full use of the resources and vigorously boost musical instrument production. CGTN reporter Yang Xinmeng visited a village to explore the history behind the trees and the locals' path to prosperity.
