The president of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, Seiko Hashimoto, has apologized to the Japanese public for increasing the frustration people have felt toward the Games. She apologized during a joint press conference with Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto. Muto has reaffirmed that athletes who test negative for COVID-19 six hours before their competition will be able to participate.
