Chinese mainland reports 50 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 50 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 12 local transmissions and 38 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.

Among the 12 local infections, 11 were registered in east China's Jiangsu Province, one in southwestern Yunnan Province.

In addition, 18 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 456 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,414, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,970 (11,688 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 56 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,478 (12,382 recoveries, 778 deaths)
