China's State Council has dispatched a work team to Nanjing City in south China's Jiangsu Province to guide the region's efforts in curbing local COVID-19 breakout, the National Health Commission said on Friday.

A total of 13 locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases and nine asymptomatic carriers were reported as of Thursday after new infections emerged at an airport earlier this week.
