Competitors staying at the athletes' village in Tokyo are not tested daily as a scheduled countermeasure due to insufficient COVID-19 testing kits, Japan's broadcaster NHK reported.

The anti-pandemic playbook of Tokyo Olympics stipulates that athletes should carry out PCR tests every day in the Olympic Village.

Athletes who arrived at the village on Monday were not tested as planned, according to the report.
