U.S. President Joe Biden's job approval rating has dropped from 56 percent in June to 50 percent in July, marking the lowest for him to date, according to Gallup's opinion poll on Friday

The new rating, conducted between July 6 and July 21, came amid a slowing vaccination rate, a spurt in coronavirus cases and a recovering economy with higher consumption.

Gallup noted that Biden's new ratings are marked by "extreme party polarization," with 90 percent of Democrats, 12 percent of Republicans and 48 percent of independents approving Biden's job performance.

It also showed that this is the first time Biden has less-than-majority approval among independents. Likewise, his rating among Democrats is the lowest to date.

As for President Biden's second quarter in office, the poll said that the president averaged 53.3 percent job approval rating, which is less than three percent compared to the 56 percent average during his first quarter.

Biden's highest approval rating was 57 percent in late January, early February and in April. And before July, his ratings had not shown meaningful variation, according to Gallup.
