Chinese athletes won three gold medals and one bronze in three events in the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.
Twenty-one-year-old Yang Qian set a new Olympic record of 251.8 points in women's 10-meter air rifle final to win the first gold of Tokyo 2020 for China.
"I thought I lost after the final shot. Then I saw everyone was cheering for me. That's when I realized that I had won the title," said Yang after achieving golden glory in her debut Olympic Games.

China did not wait long to witness the second gold, which came from Hou Zhihui, who won it in women's 49-kilogram weightlifting event. Hou also set three new Olympic records in snatch (94kg), clean & jerk (116kg) and total (210kg).

The third gold for Team China came from Sun Yiwen who beat world No. 1 Ana Maria Popescu in women's epee final match. The two spent three bouts reaching a 10-10 tie before Sun hit Popescu in the left shoulder 10 seconds into the sudden death overtime.
This was the first Olympic gold for Sun and the first women's epee Olympic title for China.
Shooting veteran Pang Wei, 35, added a bronze medal for China in the men's 10m air pistol final.
All five Chinese pairs claimed victory in the badminton doubles competitions.

Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan beat Thailand's Jongkolphan Kititharakul/ Rawinda Prajongjai 2-0 in the women's doubles match. Chen/Jia only allowed points in two games. The other Chinese pair Du Yue/Li Yinhui also achieved 2-0 win over Maiken Fruergaard/ Sara Thygesen of Denmark.
The only Chinese pair in men's doubles event, Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen, went up against Phillip Chew/Ryan Chew of the United States. Compared with the easy 21-9 win in Game 1, it took Li/Liu quite some efforts to defeat their American opponents 21-17 in the second game.
Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong and Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping continued China's dominance in the mixed doubles event. It took Zheng/Huang only 19 minutes to beat Adham Hatem Elgamal/Doha Hany of Egypt. Wang/Huang though faced some challenges against German pair Mark Lamsfuss/Isabel Herttrich but the Chinese duo won their first match 2-0.

Chinese table tennis mixed doubles pair Xu Xin/Liu Shiwen claimed victory as well in their first match by defeating Wang Zhen/Zhang Mo from Canada. Despite a lost sloppy Game 1, Xu/Liu got four straight wins in the rest of the match, winning it 4-1 in the end.
