People in Xide County of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province, celebrate the Torch Festival, a traditional event for the Yi people, an ethnic minority mostly found in southwestern China. Xide was a poverty-stricken place surrounded by mountains. After the implementation of the Rural Vitalization Strategy, the county has experienced great changes, such as the development of various industries and the improvement of traffic conditions.
