Quanzhou, China's ancient port now a UNESCO World Heritage Site

"Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China" has successfully been added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. Quanzhou, located along the coast of southeast China, has a history of more than 1,300 years. The city's great location made it one of the world's most important trading hubs during the Song and Yuan dynasties. The heritage project includes 22 sites located in different parts of the city, but all reflecting the city's important role in global trade during dynastic times.
