Thousands of people took to the streets of Sydney and other Australian cities on July 24 to protest lockdown restrictions amid another surge in cases, while police made several arrests after crowds broke through barriers and threw plastic bottles and plants. The restrictions were put in place after the country registered 176 new infections on the same day.
