China is eyeing an upgraded opening of Hainan free trade port, as it has just issued a negative list for cross-border trade in services in the province. The government is hoping the southern island province can become a globally influential free trade port by the middle of the century. It is also China's first negative list targeted at cross-border services trade. This negative list includes 70 regulatory measures targeted at overseas services providers in 11 categories. The list aims to boost the opening up of the province's service industry.
