China has witnessed a spike in the number of new "taxpaying market entities," or newly registered companies, in the first half of 2021 as the country's economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 6.24 million new corporate tax-related market entities were registered during the first six months, an increase of 27.3 percent from the same period last year, data released by the State Taxation Administration on Monday showed.
