Thousands have taken to the streets across Italy to protest against the government's COVID-19 "green pass" scheme.

The certificate will be used to allow people to access public places, like gyms, museums and restaurants.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi's government approved a decree on July 22, ordering the use of the so-called green pass starting on August 6.
