China maintained its perfect winning record at the women's synchronized 10-meter platform competition in Olympics as 14-year-old Zhang Jiaqi and 15-year-old Chen Yuxi came out on top of the diving event at the Tokyo Games on Tuesday.

It's the second diving gold for Team China in Tokyo. China has dominated this event in six consecutive Olympic Games since 2000 in Sydney.

It's also the first Olympic gold for Zhang/Chen. Jessica Parratto/Delaney Schnell of the U.S. took the silver, while Mexican duo Gabriela Agundez Garcia/Alejandra Orozco Loza finished with the bronze medal.

Zhang/Chen started the competition with a back dive (201B) and scored leading 53.40 points. Then they finished with an even better reverse dive (301B), receiving 57.60 points which gave the Chinese duo a double-digit lead.

The following forward 3½ somersaults (107B), inward 3½ somersaults (407C) and a back 2½ somersaults 1½  twists pike (5253B) in the third, fourth and fifth dive were all finished excellently, leading to fast and steady growth of Zheng/Chen's lead until they sealed the win with 363.78 points.
