Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, recorded five locally transmitted COVID-19 cases from 9:00 p.m. Tuesday to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, said an official from the municipal health commission Wednesday.

The city also registered one asymptomatic carrier.

All the patients have been put into quarantine and have received treatment. They are now in stable conditions.
