Nanjing, the capital city of east China's Jiangsu Province, has classified six more areas as medium-risk for COVID-19 amid the latest epidemic spike, local authorities said on Wednesday.

Nanjing, a mega-city with a population of more than 9.3 million, has detected more than 150 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since a few airport workers tested positive for coronavirus last week.

The city now has four high-risk and 42 medium-risk areas.
