The Chinese mainland recorded 86 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 55 being local transmissions and 31 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed Wednesday. 

In addition, 18 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 426 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,762, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636. 

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,979 (11,705 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 59 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,599 (12,664 recoveries, 787 deaths)
