One person was killed and 17 others injured after a gas storage tank exploded at 5:32 p.m. Thursday at a tank car testing base in Fushun City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, local media reported. 

No environmental damage or secondary disasters have been reported. 

An investigation has been launched to probe the cause of the accident.
