China's Lu Yunxiu won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics women's windsurfing RS:X final at Enoshima Yacht Harbor in Fujisawa on Saturday.

France's Charline Picon won the silver, ahead of Britain's Emma Wilson.

Twenty-five-year-old Lu finished third on Saturday, which was good enough for her to secure the title, as she was atop the overall rankings during previous races.

Yin Jian won China's first gold in the event back in 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The men's and women's windsurfing RS: X is featuring at the Olympics for the last time and will be replaced at the 2024 Games in Paris and future Games by the IQ Foil system.
