Two crew members of an oil tanker managed by an Israeli businessman's company were killed in an attack off Oman, the vessel's London-based operator said Friday.

The attack on Thursday night targeted the tanker just northeast of the Omani island of Masirah, over 300 kilometers southeast of Oman's capital, Muscat, reported the AP. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Iran and Israel have traded accusations of attacking each other's vessels in recent months. Without providing evidence, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid accused Iran on Friday of Thursday's attack, saying a harsh response was needed.
