Thailand has reported a daily record of over 18,000 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total cases to near 600,000, and near 5,000 fatalities. Hospitals are struggling with shortages of morgues and medical staff, and containers are being used to store bodies. The Public Health Minister said on Friday the country can keep new daily fatalities from reaching 200, with accelerated vaccinations and two months of lockdown measures.
