The Tokyo Olympics organizers reported 18 new COVID-19 cases related to the Games on Sunday including one athlete, bringing the total number to 259 since July 1.

One individual from overseas has been hospitalized but is not in serious condition.

The organizing committee also said that six Games-related people were stripped of their accreditation for violating COVID-19 restriction rules.
