Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the ASEAN foreign ministers meeting on Monday. In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the region faces challenges in economic growth and fighting the pandemic due to the resurgence of COVID-19 cases. Beijing regards ASEAN as an important player in safeguarding regional peace and stability. It added that China will continue its cooperation with ASEAN countries, especially in fighting the pandemic, pursuing economic recovery and combatting climate change.
