Fresh from setting a new world record, Team China's Zhong Tianshi/Bao Shanju won the cycling track women's team sprint gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Monday.
The Chinese duo finished the race in 31.895 seconds, ahead of Team Germany's Lea Sophie Friedrich/Emma Hinze, who clocked 31.980 seconds.
Shortly before the final, Zhong and Bao refreshed the world record with a time of 31.804 seconds in the heat, topping the previous record of 32.034 seconds set by Zhong and Gong Jinjie at the world championships in 2015.
