The Chinese mainland recorded 90 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 61 being local transmissions and 29 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

In addition, 41 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 499 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 93,193, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,990 (11,715 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 59 (54 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,702 (12,884 recoveries, 789 deaths)
