Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac Biotech will invest $60 million U.S. to build a facility to manufacture COVID-19 vaccine in Chile. The company has already delivered nearly 20 million vaccine doses to the country. The new facility in Santiago will start production in the first quarter of 2022 and will be able to roll out 50 million doses of vaccines every year. It will also help the Chinese company's further expansion in Latin America. Meanwhile, Sinovac also plans to build a research and development center in the northern region of Antofagasta in Chile.
