Start of Autumn (Li Qiu) is the 13th of the 24 solar terms and the first in autumn. When a yellowish leaf fluttering in the wind falls to the ground, all things are awakened from summer dreams by the sound of the leaf, hence there was the saying that the fall of one leaf tells the coming of autumn.
