The Chinese Embassy in Australia slammed the recent remarks by Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne at the Australia China Business Council, which mischaracterized the current problem in China-Australia relations, the embassy's spokesperson said in a statement on Friday. 

The difficult situation in the bilateral ties is the result of Australia's actions against China, the embassy said, adding that China hopes the Australian side will make serious reflections in this regard and take practical moves towards improving the bilateral relations.
