In an exclusive interview with CCTV, Dmitry Solonnikov, director of the Institute of Contemporary Development in Russia, said that SARS-CoV-2 might have originated in the U.S and spread to China. He also said that there is other evidence to show the U.S. once had an unusual increase in suspected cases, but the relevant information is not made public and investigated.
