A cargo flight from Russia may have been the source of a COVID-19 infection reported in Haikou, south China's Hainan Province, on August 5, local health officials said on Monday.

Haikou authorities initiated mass coronavirus nucleic acid testing following the confirmation of the COVID-19 case. About 533,600 people have tested negative between August 5 and 8.
