The snow leopard is a Class-A protected animal in China, while the International Union for Conservation of Nature classifies it as vulnerable. The acutely endangered species is insulated by thick hair with black spots and enjoys a golden age of protection in China. Recently, infrared cameras recorded two adult snow leopards frolicking together, the second time such a rare scene has been caught on camera since 2020.
