The United States is seeing a new surge in COVID-19 infections, due to the rapidly spreading Delta variant. Florida has been one of the worst-hit regions recently. Despite this latest surge and increase in hospitalizations, the majority of politicians and residents in Florida have taken more of a defiant attitude toward the coronavirus, believing it will eventually go away.
